What are sensory and/or physical needs in children?
'Sensory needs, which can be hearing loss and/or visual impairment or sensory processing difficulties and physical difficulties, can occur for a variety of reasons, e.g. congenital conditions (some progressive), injury or disease. The important consideration in this area is the degree to which the difficulties impact on a child’s or young person’s ability to access educational opportunities.'

Deaf Awareness Week 2024
To celebrate Deaf Awareness week 2024, we had a very exciting visit from a special hearing assistance dog. These clever dogs are trained to listen for their deaf human partners and support them in their daily lives. Our visitors came to us via a charity called Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. They visited every class and spoke with the children about what it means to be deaf and the important jobs these dogs do.
