Autumn Term 1 Week 3

This week, our class has been absolutely brilliant, demonstrating resilience and a positive attitude in all our activities! In Maths, we have been working on numbers up to 20, using number lines and fun games to boost confidence and meet our high expectations. In English, the children showcased their creativity and aspirations by writing their own stories with repeated phrasing, inspired by 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?'. They approached each task with enthusiasm, supporting each other with empathy and kindness. We also explored the seasons by matching months to pictures and sequenced the Creation Story, reflecting thoughtfully on each aspect. It’s been a week of growth, teamwork, and outstanding effort!
This Friday was an adventure as we created our very own Nature Journals! The day was filled with excitement as we explored the wonders of nature, using a variety of materials to bring our journals to life. We sketched, colored, and painted vibrant scenes, and even added special touches by collecting leaves, flowers, and other treasures from outside to stick in. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed getting creative and connecting with nature—there were smiles all around as we shared our unique creations and stories of discovery
This week, we delved into the Lord’s Prayer, taking a closer look at its deeper meaning. Each of us focused on a specific line or aspect that resonated with us personally, reflecting on what it means in our lives. We then channeled our thoughts and emotions into art, creating unique shapes and designs that represented our personal connections to the prayer. It was an inspiring experience that allowed everyone to express their faith creatively, sparking meaningful discussions and beautiful interpretations that showcased the diversity of our perspectives
This week, we continued our continuous provision, and the children enthusiastically engaged in a variety of new tasks! They explored the changing seasons by matching months to the correct seasonal pictures, practiced their number skills by plotting numbers on a blank number line up to 20, and brought our English story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' to life by creating their own vibrant illustrations. They also deepened their understanding of the Creation Story by sequencing pictures in the correct order. It’s been a week full of discovery, creativity, and hands-on learning
